The project for the Research and Development Center of Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna S.A. is a response to the growing demand within the European defense industry for independent and advanced research infrastructure capable of supporting the development and certification of next-generation ammunition.
The Research and Development Center of Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna S.A. enables testing involving firing at a bullet trap from distances of 130 meters and 500 meters.
The facility is designed for single-pass firing of artillery weapons with calibers up to 155 mm. Tests are conducted using ballistic projectiles (INERT—non-explosive).
During firing, the initial velocity of the projectiles and the pressure in the cartridge chamber are measured using specialized testing equipment. In addition, the Center will be able to conduct fragmentation tests on combat drone payloads.
The research will include:
- acceptance testing of batches* of fuses
- acceptance testing of batches* of shells
- acceptance tests for batches* of propellant
- research and development (R&D) of ammunition
The OBR will be able to store test munitions, including the ability to condition ammunition at temperatures ranging from-40°Cto+63°C
depending on the type of testing.
The center’s research capabilities are supported by specialized testing equipment and weapons with calibers up to and including 155 mm.
