As external tensions rise, so does the need to protect critical infrastructure, which could become a target of enemy sabotage.

Drones are the solution to this challenge, as they can monitor and protect such facilities from the air, land, and even water.

As Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna S.A., we are a registered entity in the National Drone Information System and are actively developing projects in this field. We see enormous potential in this area, which is why we are committed to the development of modern drones

UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles), and USVs (Unmanned Surface Vessels)
designed to protect critical infrastructure around the world.

According to the classification system of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the following types of strategic facilities are most vulnerable to sabotage:

Power plant
Refinery
Warehouses

Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna S.A. develops integrated drone systems in the "RECON" series, equipped with its proprietary Recon Navigator software, which enables real-time management of patrol drones from a single platform via an easy-to-use interface.

The entity responsible for this business sector at Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna S.A. is Tech Robotics.

UAV

We are currently developing the ReconSky UAV system, featuring a tailless airframe design (a so-called wing), whose performance advantages over other designs include: flight time in non-thermal conditions (2 hours without air currents), operational range (flight to and return to base), and flight speed (up to 140 km/h).

Our priority for UAV drones is long-range capability, defined as flight distance and duration under non-thermal conditions. That is why we have opted for a fixed-wing design which, unlike vertical takeoff drones, does not waste energy during ascent, resulting in significantly better performance and a genuine design advantage.

The use of drones for military as well as civilian purposes often involves missions whose course is difficult to predict due to external factors. In such situations, the loss of a drone becomes a serious problem. We solved this by opting for a compact, tailless design, which facilitates safe landing of the drone via parachute and minimizes the risk of damage, allowing the drone to have a longer service life than designs with tails.

Most American drones were developed through testing in combat conditions—primarily in countries with high cloud ceilings. We test and adapt our USV drones to European conditions, which are characterized by low cloud ceilings that make flight difficult. As a result, our drones are not only capable of achieving record-breaking flight times in athermic conditions, but also of capturing imagery from low altitudes of 200–300 m above ground level, below the cloud ceiling.

We are one of the few companies in the world developing a system of long-range, large-scale USV foil-type unmanned surface vehicles, which offer the advantages of self-stabilization, low power consumption, high speed, the ability to ride above the waves, an undetectable wake, and low thermal and acoustic signatures.

We also design our ReconSea USVs with performance in mind, and this is primarily influenced by water resistance. The use of a foil design, in which the drone glides over the water like a hydrofoil, allows for greater independence from weather conditions, but also makes the patrol vehicle less detectable due to its quiet movement and minimal wake on the water. This, in turn, makes it harder for anyone who might want to disable the drone to carry out sabotage operations against it

We are developing our ReconPatrol unmanned patrol vehicles based on the experience gained from a highly successful project carried out by our subsidiary, TechRobotics.

These robots are equipped with four wheels, autonomous navigation, and technology for fully contactless data collection. Their primary mission is to patrol, observe, and survey the terrain—including areas that are difficult to access or contaminated—and transmit real-time imagery back to base.

We believe in the effectiveness of collaborating with local partners, which is why we have installed a camera head from the renowned Polish manufacturer VERTIGO Global in our patrol vehicle.

Since 2016, this company has been developing technologies for unmanned vehicles, including our UGV ReconPatrol drone. VERTIGO GLOBAL specializes, among other things, in the development of optoelectronic gimbals that provide the stability necessary to capture high-quality video footage and blur-free photos while moving across challenging terrain. The Vertigo design team consists of experts in software, algorithms, robotics, and optoelectronics, and it is precisely this multidisciplinary nature of their team that led us to establish a fruitful partnership with them.
