Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna has entered into a strategic partnership with WITI for the production of modern anti-personnel mines

The subsidiary Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna (NPGM), Zakłady Sprzętu Precyzyjnego (ZSP) Niewiadów, and the Military Institute of Engineering Technology (WITI) have signed two strategic cooperation agreements. The agreements concern the joint development, production, and distribution of modern anti-personnel mines: the MOD-26 (pull-type) and the MND-26 (pressure-type). This partnership aims to build sovereign industrial capabilities in the field of engineering equipment, which is a key element in strengthening the country’s defense potential and protecting its borders as part of the Eastern Shield program.

The signing of agreements with WITI lays the foundation for building our national capabilities in the area of engineering resources, which are essential for the implementation of the Eastern Shield program. “We are combining the Institute’s unique research expertise with our production facilities and engineering experience to provide the Polish Army with modern solutions that are crucial in light of the new security architecture on NATO’s eastern flank,” says Adam Januszko, CEO of Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna.

The subject of the signed contracts is the production of two types of anti-personnel mines:

– MOD-26: a diversionary mine.

– MND-26: pressure-activated mine.

In accordance with the division of responsibilities, WITI is responsible for research and development, including the preparation of technical documentation and test models, as well as the conduct of in-house and field tests. ZSP Niewiadów assumes the industrial role, being responsible for the production of prototypes, the development of manufacturing documentation, mass production, and the distribution of finished products. The collaboration is planned for a period of ten years, and the Institute’s remuneration will be based on a commission system tied to future sales.

According to NPGM’s strategic plans, the company is scheduled to achieve serial production readiness for anti-personnel mines in the fourth quarter of 2026, with a target production capacity of up to 1 million units per year. This scale meets the enormous demand from the Armaments Agency, which, in the context of army modernization and border security, is estimated at a total of 16.17 million units by 2028.
