Solid propellants, base bleed systems, and proprietary warheads—Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna (NPGM), a manufacturer of weapons and military equipment listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, has announced Poland’s contribution to the European missile defense shield.
Europe is building a ballistic missile defense shield—for now, without Poland. The Prime Minister has set one condition for Poland’s participation: a concrete industrial proposal from Polish companies. The Niewiadów Polish Military Group is responding to this invitation and declares its readiness to immediately engage in dialogue with government agencies and state-owned companies regarding the development of such a proposal.
– The Prime Minister made it clear: we need proposals from Polish companies. Our response is this: we are ready to sit down at the table—with the Ministry of National Defense, the Armaments Agency, and the Polish Armaments Group—even tomorrow. Poland cannot watch the construction of the European missile defense shield from the sidelines. “Our investments in solid propellants, base bleed systems, and our own warheads were made precisely so that Polish industry could make a real, productive contribution to Europe’s security, ” says Adam Januszko, CEO of Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna.
On July 13 in Paris, nine European countries and Ukraine announced the formation of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition—an initiative that will define Europe’s missile defense architecture for decades to come. Its foundation is industrial: a shared production base, research, and lessons learned from the war in Ukraine. Poland is not on the list of founding members. However, the coalition remains open, and the Prime Minister has stated unequivocally: Poland will join if Polish companies prepare a concrete industrial proposal.
NPGM can help shape such an offering today. The Group’s investment program, which has been underway since 2022—one of the largest private projects in the Polish defense industry—covers capabilities that precisely meet the needs of the European missile effector supply chain:
- solid-propellant technology – The Group is developing capabilities in the field of solid rocket propellants, which form the basis of propulsion for modern interceptor missiles;
- base bleed assemblies – base bleed assemblies developed and put into production, which are crucial for long-range ammunition;
- in-house warheads —warhead designs developed in collaboration with Polish military institutes, along with a full range of facilities for the formulation, compression, and prefabrication of explosives;
- industrial production and research base – a 155 mm ammunition factory currently under construction with a target capacity of three production lines, an in-house research and development center, and a testing range; ISO 9001 and AQAP 2110 certifications.
These capabilities make NPGM a natural partner for both Polish state-owned companies and European corporations participating in the coalition’s work.
Importantly, the Group would not be starting from scratch: NPGM is already participating in ongoing projects of this type, carried out as part of international industrial consortia. The Group therefore has practical, proven experience in operating within multinational cooperation frameworks—from shared technical requirements to quality and supply security standards.
NPGM emphasizes: the goal is a national offering, developed jointly with state and private entities—not competition with the Wisła, Narew, or Pilica+ programs. The capabilities of the state defense industry are currently fully committed to key modernization programs of the Polish Armed Forces. This is precisely why private-sector participation is a prerequisite for the rapid development of a credible Polish proposal.
