The Management Board of Grupa Niewiadów PGM S.A., with its registered office in Warsaw (“the Issuer”), hereby announces that it was informed today that its subsidiary, Zakłady Sprzętu Precyzyjnego Niewiadów sp. z o.o., with its registered office at Osiedle Niewiadów 49 (“ZSP”) on October 17, 2025, entered into an agreement on joint scientific and technical achievement (“Agreement”) with the Military Institute of Armament Technology, with its registered office in Zielonka (“WITU”). The subject of the Agreement is the development of technology for the production of a 155 mm cartridge with a High Explosive (“HE”) projectile and a 155 mm cartridge with an HE projectile and a gas generator, based on documentation developed by WITU (“Products”).
The agreement provides for cooperation between ZSP and WITU in the development of manufacturing technologies for the aforementioned products, which, upon completion of the work, will be jointly owned by ZSP and WITU in a 50-50 split.
The scope of research and development work is specified in the annexes to the Agreement and may be subject to modification depending on the results of the research. ZSP and WITU will carry out the work using their own financial and material resources.
The ZSP and WITU have provided for the possibility of engaging domestic and foreign partners, with the party engaging the partner bearing full responsibility for the performance of the assigned tasks.
ZSP and WITU have agreed that, should ZSP decide to implement the Products into mass production, WITU will grant ZSP a license to use the jointly owned rights to the documentation concerning the manufacturing technology of the Products, in the part owned and developed by WITU. The detailed terms of cooperation will be set forth in a separate license agreement to be executed upon completion of the research and development work.
Pursuant to the Agreement, ZSP and WITU have also agreed to maintain confidentiality and not to use the information, technology, or know-how obtained in any manner other than as provided for in the Agreement, subject to the terms set forth in a separately executed NDA
The agreement has been entered into for an indefinite period and takes effect on the date of signing.
The signing of this agreement marks a milestone in the development of domestic capabilities in the field of large-caliber artillery ammunition. For the first time in Poland, the development, testing, and implementation of 155 mm projectile technology—including projectiles with a gas generator—will be carried out by domestic entities. As a result, the Niewiadów PGM S.A. Group and Zakłady Sprzętu Precyzyjnego Niewiadów sp. z o.o. will gain full capability for the independent production of ammunition compliant with JBMoU requirements, adapted to the Krab and K9 systems, with the flexibility to select components of European origin.
As a result, Poland gains genuine autonomy in the procurement of strategic-caliber ammunition, which significantly enhances the security of supply for the Polish Armed Forces and represents an important step toward establishing a European supply chain in line with the priorities of the SAFE/EDF program.
The Agreement also lays the groundwork for discussions with the Ministry of National Defense regarding future domestic procurement and the implementation of programs to develop domestic 155 mm ammunition as part of the technical modernization priorities of the Polish Armed Forces.
