On the day the Republic of Poland formally withdrew from the Ottawa Convention, Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna S.A. completed a key phase of preparations for the launch and expansion of large-scale production of anti-personnel mines. This process is being carried out by Zakłady Sprzętu Precyzyjnego Niewiadów, a company belonging to the Group.
At ZSP Niewiadów, a detailed analysis of the technical documentation for historically manufactured products was conducted, and the infrastructure and technological equipment necessary to resume production were prepared. For decades, the Niewiadów plant supplied various types of mines to the Armed Forces, which today provides a solid foundation of expertise and documentation for rebuilding these capabilities.
As part of the preparations, the existing machinery was upgraded, including equipment for casting and pressing explosives. A plan for further expansion of production capacity was also developed, enabling the company to achieve industrial scale. At the same time, the company secured its supply chain by establishing partnerships with domestic component manufacturers and partners operating within international cooperative networks.
In cooperation with the Military Institute of Engineering Technology, anti-personnel mine simulators have been developed in pull-type and pressure-type variants, which serve as the design basis for new combat products. The company is ready to offer both mines previously manufactured based on existing documentation and new solutions developed in response to current operational needs.
“We have completed a fundamental phase of rebuilding our technological capabilities in the field of engineering equipment. We have the documentation, technical infrastructure, and experienced staff needed to launch production in a short time. Niewiadów has a long-standing tradition in this field and real industrial capabilities,” emphasizes Krystian Gąsior, President of the Management Board of Zakłady Sprzętu Precyzyjnego Niewiadów.
The group also plans to expand its product range to include anti-tank mines, leveraging its existing technological and documentation expertise. Mass production using casting and explosive compaction technologies is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the first orders expected as early as 2026.
“Rebuilding our domestic capabilities in the production of anti-personnel and anti-tank mines is part of building industrial sovereignty and a response to the growing need to strengthen NATO’s eastern flank and expand engineering systems. “We are convinced that, as one of the best-prepared private industrial groups in Poland, we can play a significant role in this process,” notes Adam Januszko, CEO of Niewiadów Polska Grupa Militarna.
In the Company’s management’s assessment, the launch of mine production will have a significant impact on the scale of the Group’s operations and revenue growth in the coming years, strengthening its position in the defense sector.
The Niewiadów Polish Military Group emphasizes that these activities are part of a long-term strategy to develop expertise in the field of modern engineering capabilities and national security support.
